Long Island boasts plenty of fine dining, but there's something special about a handful of tucked-away restaurants that are perfect for summertime meals.

News 12's Danielle Campbell stopped by some of these secret restaurant spots for a taste of summer. First on the list was Fatfish Wine Bar and Bistro in Bay Shore, where an outside dining deck that overlooks the Great South Bay provides the perfect backdrop for scrumptious seafood.

Over on the North Shore, Rockin' Fish in Northport offers yummy lobster tacos, an excellent choice after a day of browsing the quaint shops in the village.

Further east is a real hidewaway in Mattituck: the Old Mill Inn. Its 200-year history includes tales of rum-runners, pesky ghosts and secret rendezvous. Besides the history and the views, the food is fantastic: from fresh swordfish to key lime pie martinis, there's something for everyone.

And of course, there's no shortage of dining hotspots in the Hamptons. Among them is Cowfish in Hampton Bays, with its 180-degree views of the Shinnecock Bay and adirondack chairs for everyone. There's also the Saltwater Grill and Dune Deck in Westhampton Beach, a Dune Road hangout spot that offers casual, friendly fun.
