First responders still haven't found a missing swimmer in Kings Park, after receiving calls about a person in the river in distress.
Police tell News 12 they're expected to be back out later this morning to continue their search once it's light out.
The latest information from police is that the
missing person has still not been found.
Suffolk police say the marine bureau, dive team, aviation section, patrol officers, firefighters and coast guard are all looking.
Viewer video shows a helicopter flying over the area to help with the search.
The Kings Park fire chief says the 911 call came in shortly before 8 p.m. Monday about a man in distress in the Nissequogue River.
The fire chief says bystanders saw the man go into the water and tried to swim.
“Units arrived and were told by bystanders there was a man in the water just off the Kings Park Bluff here. We put some units in the water. We had Northport and Bay Shore fire departments assist us with their dive teams and we were unable to locate the individual," said Kings Park Fire Department Chief Philip Carroll.
