If you're hitting the road on Thursday ahead of the Fourth of July, you are not alone.
AAA says a record number of Americans will travel domestically this July 4 weekend, with most of those people hitting the road.
Many Long Islanders plan to stay local. “I know [the roads] are going to be so packed because that's the way it always is, especially the Southern State, you can't even move through there,” says Jessica Fernandez, of West Hempstead.
According to AAA, the best time to leave the house is anytime before noon. The worst time is between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
