A Nassau school nurse is being hailed a hero after saving the life of an aide at the school.
It happened Thursday afternoon at Camp Avenue Elementary School in North Merrick. According to Newsday, nurse Mari Titterton found the aide unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse.
Titterton and a substitute nurse jumped into action, using a defibrillator and performing CPR.
The school says the aide is now recuperating.
