? The first annual ?Run for Robbie? fundraiser was held in Merrick Sunday to bring awareness to the problem of childhood heart disease.
The race is in memory of 9-year-old Robbie Levine who collapsed during Little League practice last September. Craig Levine says his son died from a heart attack. He believes the boy may have lived if a defibrillator was on hand. The Levines have started the Robbie Levine Foundation to raise money for that cause and to provide information on the issue.
Robbie?s family say the run raised more than $23,000.
