Roxbury is embracing one of their very own -- Lindsey Jacobellis, as
she's made history many times in the Olympic Games.
Jacobellis won Gold in the
first ever Olympics mixed team snowboard cross. She also won the first Gold USA
team women's snowboard cross this time around, and she is also the oldest U.S woman to win a gold.
It was a proud moment not
only for her parents but her hometown of Roxbury too. There's currently a
banner hanging in honor of Jacobellis in front of Roxbury Town Hall. Her parents’
credit the love and support from the community in helping Jacobellis make the
country proud.
Governor Ned Lamont weighed in with this tweet:
"Connecticut is punching above its weight class in the #WinterOlympics. That's 'two medal emojis' gold medals for Roxbury native @LindseyJacobellis! We're proud of you, Lindsey."
Jacobellis is on a
flight home where she'll touch down later tonight and bring home the two
gold medals with her.
