Fifth and sixth graders at the Norman J. Levy Lakeside School in Merrick went for gold playing in a "Drone Olympics."

It's all part of the students' information and technology class.

For the showdown, students had to create codes, debug them and run them again to complete tasks that mimic movements of Olympic events, such as tumbling.

The Drone Olympics are going on districtwide in Merrick, also at the Chatterton and Birch schools.
