One of the most decorated athletes in Long Island history is hanging up her cleats.

Rockville Centre native Crystal Dunn announced her retirement from soccer.

The Olympic gold medalist began her career at South Side High School, where she won three New York State Championships.

Dunn continued on to become a staple on the U.S. Women's National Team, where she won gold, and a World Cup Championship.

The local legend was also inducted into the Nassau County High School Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.
