Long Island's own Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider is getting ready to rock and ride in the name of hunger.

Ahead of his Sunday fundraiser for Long Island Cares, Snider gave News 12's Elisa DiStefano a tour of the warehouse and explains why he gets involved.

"The thing that blew me away [was] when I found out that more than 10 percent of Long Islanders need help putting food on the table every day," Snider says.

He says he is keeping Harry Chapin's, the founder of Long Island Cares, mission alive. Snider explains that the warehouse is set up like a store front for people to 'shop' for food and necessities. He adds that in addition to food, there are also school supplies for kids going back to classes.

Dee Snider's ride will take place Sunday at Lido Beach Park. The ride starts at 11am. Long Island Cares representatives will be on hand to collect any donations.
