Snow, ice and slush can still be seen in Levittown, and residents say Sunday’s nasty weather just made things worse.
Four days after the storm, Dave Debacker from Seaford says the streets in his neighborhood look like they have not been completely plowed. He says he wishes plows did a better job cleaning up Sylvia Road, Gail Drive and Bayberry Lane after the nor'easter.
"The streets when we got here was only one little path down the middle, other locations it's not down to the asphalt,” Debacker says.
To make matters worse, Sunday’s winter weather caused a water main break in the morning on Luddington Road in East Meadow. A video shared on Facebook shows a tow truck pulling a car out of the water after almost being completely submerged in the flooded street.
Town officials say the water main break affected about 20 homes on the block, but water is now restored.
After getting out of her car and walking through the back parking lot of the Tri County Mall on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, Thalia Beku from Freeport says the lot should be plowed better.
"It looks very dangerous, it looks not safe. It should be salted more because you can slip and hurt yourself,” Beku says.
The Town of Hempstead says it sent crews back to plow again in the parking lot in Levittown after they received numerous complaints that it wasn't done right the first time.
