The Village of Hempstead has renamed Main Street in honor of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The street is now known as "Black Lives Matter Way."
The decision for the renaming comes in the wake of recent police killings of unarmed Black men across the country.
Village officials say "Black Lives Matter" will also be painted in yellow along Main Street as a symbol of unity and solidarity.
