Members of the Riverhead school board went into executive session Monday over an undisclosed personnel issue.
The public was not allowed inside the meeting, causing concern by some who see it as the board’s general lack of transparency.
The meeting comes following several incidents at the high school, including swastikas being found and young children being called racial slurs.
A spokesperson for the district says they are encouraging parents and residents to come to the next public board meeting at Riverhead High School on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
