Students at Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy have created a special exhibit at their school’s library to celebrate Black History Month.
The gallery presentation was put together by the Black Student Union and Allies Club alongside some school staff.
Also, the New York Public Library supported many of the books.
“This year, we decided to chose something that is going to enlighten people to have better understandings about Black joy,” said Julia Loving, the school’s librarian. “We have an actual artist that's here teaching students how to do a lot of artwork that has African themes.”
Throughout this week, classes will take a journey through the gallery learning about the history of afrofuturism.
