A bond proposal to expand the Center Moriches firehouse was rejected by residents.
In a revote Tuesday, the bond proposal worth more than $17 million was voted down.
The fire department says the current firehouse is too small for today's larger fire trucks and fails to meet federal and fire industry codes.
