Bronx residents that live at Grand Avenue and 90th Street say the locale is a quiet escape from city life, but they are worried a building boom is changing that.
Residents fear the new multi-family homes built on the block clash with their luscious green spaces, tree-lined sidewalks and Victorian houses.
?I think it?s going to change the feeling a little bit because the residents around here are happy with the way it is right now. If so many more tenement buildings come up, it takes away from the history of the neighborhood,? Grand Avenue resident Terry Lavel says.
Some residents also say the neighborhood has become noisier, that crime has increased and that parking has become more difficult. Some are even considering picking up and moving.
