Incumbent Rep. Tom Suozzi is taking on political newcomer
George Santos in the race for the 3rd Congressional District

George Santos grew up in Queens and
currently lives in Whitestone. He says his main issues are maintaining law and
order, kick-starting the economy during the pandemic and making sure New
York kids have a bright future.
"Those are my top three priorities, but in my
district, specifically, one that I can't ignore is infrastructure,” says Santos.
“Our electrical grid is desperately in need of upgrades. It's desperately in
need of attention. Just a little while ago, 460,000 people went without power
because of a storm."
The son of Brazilian immigrants would be the first openly gay Republican to serve in New York’s congressional delegation.
Rep. Suozzi says he will focus on the
environment as his top priority.
"The top of my agenda has always been to improve,
preserve and protect our environment,” he told News 12. “That's why I was named
for all of New York state, the Environmentalist of the Year by the League of
Conservation Voters. That's why, this year, I have been endorsed by the League
of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club and the Long Island Environmental
Voters Forum."
