Rep. Lee Zeldin held a political fundraiser Thursday night in St. James with Donald Trump Jr.
Zeldin has been one of President Donald Trump’s strongest defenders throughout the impeachment inquiry.
During Thursday's testimony, he tweeted: "Foreign policy is set by the elected president above anyone else in the executive branch, including all unelected bureaucrats!"
Meanwhile, some of Zeldin's constituents responded by rallying in opposition, demanding he get back to work on Long Island.
Activists from the North Country Peace Group said in a statement, “Zeldin continues to put his own political future and his misguided loyalty to President Trump ahead of the needs of his working class constituency.”
