Remains of man from Oyster Bay who died in Sept. 11 attacks identified

The remains of a man from Long Island who died in the Sept. 11 attacks have been identified.
Officials say the remains were identified thanks to next generation DNA technology.
John Ballantine Niven, 44, of Oyster Bay, worked on the 105th floor of the south tower.
A total of 40% of the victim’s remains from the attacks remain unidentified.
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joe Saladino said “We will forever remember our heroes who perished on 9/11 and we appreciate the continuous efforts of forensic experts to help identify victims. We’re hopeful that this amazing advance in technology helps bring peace to Mr. Niven’s family and allows him to eternally rest in peace.”
