Members of the Bethpage Union Free School District walked the hallways of the high school Friday for a good cause.
The Relay for Life fundraising event had to be moved inside due to the weather. This is the first year the event has been back at Bethpage High School since the start of the pandemic.
Those who took part in the event, celebrated cancer survivors and remembered those who died from the disease.
This year was special because it was dedicated to two members of the Bethpage community who died of cancer.
"We want to raise the awareness of what is significant about this day because everyone that we could pass by in the hallways knows someone who was impacted by cancer," says Superintendent Dan Schneider.
All of the money raised at the event goes to the American Cancer Society.
