Relatives of three people who died in a carbon monoxide incident came face to face with the landlord at the site Friday.
Ricardo Pearce, 27, Tanisha Armstrong, 25, and 4-year-old Talani Johnson died in their illegal West Babylon apartment Nov. 20. Officials believe a generator may be to blame. The electricity was turned off at the building.
A.J. Ercolino and others came to pay their respects at a makeshift shrine, but the gathering almost came to blows when Ercolino saw the landlord, Wilson Milord, at the site.
"My uncle is dead because of you!" Ercolino shouted at Milord. "You should have been the one in that house!"
While the town claims it condemned the property in June, Milord lashed back at the family that it wasn't true. "They're using 'condemned' to condemn me!" Milord said. Milord's attorney added that his client never told the tenants to use the generator in the basement.
