A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Long Island on Saturday with warmer, windy and very dry weather expected. There should be no outdoor burning and any fires that start can spread rapidly.
This weekend will be nice otherwise with sunshine and warmer weather. Daytime highs will be near 60 degrees with lows near 40 degrees.
More dry weather is in the forecast next week with the next chance for rain coming in late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. A cooldown will follow.
FORECAST: OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly with lows near 39 degrees. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Sunrise: 6:41 a.m
SATURDAY: Red Flag Warning. Breezy with mostly sunny skies. Highs near 63 degrees. Northwest wind 15 to 30 mph. Sunset: 4:33 p.m Mostly clear at night with lows near 42 degrees. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
