A nor-easter pounded the Island today and created dangerous driving conditions.
News 12 Long Island’s Erin Colton is on the Sagtikos Parkway north near Pine Aire Drive where the heavy rains resulted in the closure of the entrance ramp. It has since reopened.
Crews worked since 6 a.m. to pump out the water.
Heavy rains and whipping winds continued throughout the day and mixed with some snow in the afternoon.
