A rally was held Wednesday demanding equality for undocumented immigrant workers who have been excluded from pandemic relief.
Brentwood community members came together to support a bill being proposed by a state senator from Queens.
It would create the New York Excluded Workers Fund to support undocumented immigrants affected by COVID-19.
Suffolk County Legislator Sam Gonzalez told the crowd that supporting everyone in the pandemic is the right thing to do.
According to Gonzalez, Brentwood was the No. 1 district for positive cases in Suffolk County. He added that other communities with large minority populations - Central Islip and North Bay Shore - were second and third.
