Police say Islip is the latest town to be hit by a rash of rim and tire thefts.
Resident Jonathan Sessa says someone stole the wheels and rims off his new Nissan Maxima outside his home by jacking it up with landscape blocks.
?They took cement blocks from the back yard,? Sessa says. ?They walked past my bedroom window and then proceeded to take the tires and rims off right in front of my other bedroom window."
Car owners have reported being hit in similar fashion in Farmingdale, North Babylon, Massapequa and Sayville in the last several days. Police say it?s happening more and more often.
Authorities say the thieves are targeting Hondas as well as Cadillac Escalades and Nissan Maximas.
