Protesters gathered on North Sea Road in Southampton Sunday to demand safer workplaces and more worksite inspections by federal agencies.
The group says more action from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration could help cut down on dangerous conditions that they say led to the death of Facundo Gonzalez, an immigrant worker from Mexico who was killed on a local construction job last month.
"Every single workplace needs to be safe and healthy, regardless of the immigration status of any of the workers," says Nadia Marin-Molina, of the Workplace Project.
