yesterdayProsecutors say an East Northport man sexually abused his great niece for nearly five years.
The man, whose name is not being released to protect the child's identity, was convicted Wednesday on criminal charges.
Prosecutors say the abuse began the day the girl graduated kindergarten.
She told her mother of the abuse when she turned 12.
The suspect now faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced.
