An East Norwich man was charged with second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of his wife in a botched murder-suicide attempt.
Prosecutors say Warren Marc Ducker, 67, admitted to police at the scene Sunday that he killed his wife at their gated apartment complex in East Norwich.
They say he stabbed her more than 30 times, and that Ducker had told responding officers, "I took a knife and stabbed my wife until she was dead. I tried to kill myself and couldn't find my aorta in my neck."
Prosecutors say Ducker went on to say, "I heard voices telling me they're going to torture me and my wife...They are ISIS, part of a criminal conspiracy. I decided they were going to torture us unmercifully."
They say Ducker also said, "I tried to slit my wrists, but got tired. Stuck the knife in my eye to get out my brain."
Investigators say Ducker was the one who called 911. When police arrived at the Heatherwood complex, Ducker was sitting in the living room with multiple self-inflicted stab wounds.

Wendy Ducker had been battling uterine cancer. She had a GoFundMe page to raise money for treatment.
Detectives say the couple has one child who does not live in the area.
Ducker was remanded without bail during his bedside arraignment at Nassau University Medical Center. He is scheduled to speak with the judge again on Friday.
