A priest who admitted he collected hundreds of child pornography images off the Internet has been sentenced to 41 months in prison.
Thomas Saloy was sentenced Friday in federal court in Islip. He worked as an administrator of the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Roosevelt.
Saloy pleaded guilty in November 2006 to having more than 600 illegal images on his computer.
He was arrested after he was snagged in a federal probe looking into the trading of child porn.
A spokesman for the Diocese of Rockville Centre did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
