In Nassau, there are growing COVID-19 concerns in one
North Shore community.
Officials
say Port Washington is seeing an uptick in coronavirus cases.
The North Shore hamlet is one of several communities, including Great Neck and
Westbury, reporting a rise in COVID
numbers.
The North
Hempstead town supervisor says she's not sure why, but she's working with other
community leaders to make sure people remain vigilant.
Schools
are open and will remain open
- unless there's a
9% positivity rate.
Port Washington's superintendent told News 12 in a statement, "If circumstances change, our
district will adhere to any new guidelines issued by the CDC and the New York
State Department of Health, and if those guidelines mandate schools close, we
will of course abide by those guidelines."
