In Nassau, there are growing COVID-19 concerns in one North Shore community.
Officials say Port Washington is seeing an uptick in coronavirus cases.
The North Shore hamlet is one of several communities, including Great Neck and Westbury, reporting a rise in COVID numbers.
The North Hempstead town supervisor says she's not sure why, but she's working with other community leaders to make sure people remain vigilant.
Schools are open and will remain open - unless there's a 9% positivity rate.
Port Washington's superintendent told News 12 in a statement, "If circumstances change, our district will adhere to any new guidelines issued by the CDC and the New York State Department of Health, and if those guidelines mandate schools close, we will of course abide by those guidelines."
