Port Jefferson has seen its share of flooding damage from major storms, so shop owners in the village say they were prepared for the latest rain.
Jeffrey Sanzel, executive artistic director at Theater Three, says they cleared out everything.
“We cleared out everything from the kitchen and put it on the bar,” says Sanzel. “We cleared out all the chairs and tables that were down here."
Sanzel recalls how bad the last flooding was.
“Three and half feet of water, a lot of mud,” says Sanzel. “It came in through the floor through the walls through the windows."
