Police say a woman was injured after shots were fired into a home in Mastic Beach.

According to police, officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired from the roadway into an occupied house on Woodside Road around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say when they arrived, they found a 28-year-old woman with a gunshot wound in the arm.

The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries.

No other injuries have been reported.

Detectives believe the house was targeted.
