Police: Woman hit, killed crossing near Walt Whitman Mall
People in the area tell News 12 they often have to pick up all their things off the lawn and move their cars away from the house when it rains like this.

Police say a woman has died after being hit by two cars near the Walt Whitman Mall.
According to police, the woman was crossing Walt Whitman Road at Livingston Street in Melville around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
The unidentified woman was apparently crossing while vehicles were going through a green light.
The woman was hit by a BMW and then a Nissan and died at the scene.
No one else was hurt.
