Yesterday was the warmest so far this season in Islip, with high temperatures soaring to 88F at MacArthur Airport. The previous warmest day was last week, June 5 when we reached 83F. Today is cloudier but also feels more pleasant with high temperatures in the mid-70s. There could be a stray shower or two, especially toward the evening.
The weekend doesn't look great. Cloudy skies are expected with high temperatures only in the 60s, but most of the rain will be light, and there is some dry time. Sunday will be mainly cloudy with a few showers in the morning, becoming less numerous later in the day. Although showers are possible at any point this weekend, the best chance for dry weather is Sunday.
