Police are looking for a woman caught on cellphone video assaulting a Nassau bus driver in Franklin Square.

The attack happened at around 3:30 p.m. Monday on the N6 bus. Passengers say the woman was upset the driver didn't stop at an unscheduled stop on Hempstead Turnpike and started attacking the driver. The driver suffered minor injuries. 

The entire attack was caught on cellphone video taken by another passenger. The woman then got off the bus and walked eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike. Passengers say she had a small child with her.

In a statement to News 12, the bus company says "NICE drivers do an excellent job for the riding public, often under challenging conditions...Incidents involving physical contact between a driver and a passenger are rare."

Chris Gavin, from the Transit Workers Union, says assaults against bus drivers are on the rise. He believes NICE buses should have clear partitions between drivers and passengers, much like those being installed on city buses to protect them from attacks.
