Nassau County police say scammers have been able to spoof department phone numbers to pose as officers or employees.

Nassau County police say scammers have been able to spoof department phone numbers to pose as officers or employees.
The scammers call Long Islanders asking for credit card numbers, a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer, police say.
Police tell anyone who receives a call like this to hang up and dial 911.
