Police say a man from Valley Stream was fatally shot Friday in Brooklyn.
The NYPD says they found 29-year-old Noman Saleemi on the ground around 3:15 a.m. Friday near Williams and Atlantic avenues in Brooklyn. They say he had been shot in the head.
Saleemi, a taxi driver, lived on Long Island and was just two days shy of starting a new job at a pharmacy.
Saleemi owned a red Nissan Altima, which was stolen during the crime. Police say his wallet was found five blocks from the crime scene.
The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers president believes he was lured to the area because it is isolated.
The NYPD tells News 12 they do not believe his occupation and the crime are related.
The federation is offering a $5,000 reward for any information. Police are still searching for the suspect.
