Police urge other victims of alleged Brooklyn sex offender to come forward

Police are urging any additional victims of an alleged sex offender in Brooklyn to come forward.

The Brooklyn Adult Sex Crimes Squad arrested Miguel Soctax, 22, on Wednesday for allegedly forcibly touching multiple women in June. The NYPD now says he is accused of committing additional crimes, including attempted rape.

Soctax faces a slew of charges, including aggravated sexual abuse, strangulation, three counts of forcible touching, two counts of sexual abuse, three counts of forcible touching and two counts of harassment.

Police say Soctax is known to the 62nd Precinct and provided a clear headshot of him.

Anyone who believes they may be a victim or has information is asked to call the NYPD Sex Crimes Hotline at 1-212-267-RAPE (7273) or 1-646-610-7272, the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted online.
