Nassau police say the words "Trump" and "Islam" were scratched into a car that was parked in Hicksville.
Police say a 28-year-old woman had left her car in front of her home and discovered the vandalism on Friday afternoon.
The windshield and tail lights had also been broken. Police say the car sustained about $3,000 in damage.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
