Suffolk police say six people were injured in a shooting at a house party in Bay Shore early Sunday morning.
It happened at 18 Farragut St. around 1:30 a.m. Police say four males and two females were injured. Five of the victims were found in the front yard of the home, and one was inside at the time of the shooting.
The females injured in the shooting are 15 and 33 years old, according to police. Two of the males are 18, one is 19 and the other is 21 years old.
The victims were all hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police say.
Neighbors who spoke with News 12 described a chaotic scene. They say they heard several shots in quick succession, then saw people running from the party.
Investigators remained at the scene hours after the shooting. There was what appeared to be a bullet hole in the siding of the home where the party was held.
So far, no arrests have been made and police have not released a description of the suspect, but area residents say investigators need to track that person down so nobody else gets hurt.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.
