Police say a Shirley man is facing charges in the murder of a pregnant woman.

They say 25-year-old Kelvin Philip has been arrested in the murder of 27-year-old Tatiana Walton, who sources say was pregnant. Philip was taken into custody Thursday and is being held in Brooklyn.

Officers say Walton's body was found outside the Red Hook apartment building where she lived. They say they found her unconscious and unresponsive, and she was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Neighbors of Philip say detectives were asking them questions Wednesday night.

Resident James Hope says he is familiar with all of his neighbors except for Philip. Hope says he has seen a few different people coming in and out of Philip's house.

News 12 is told that the victim did not have any visible trauma to her body, but a witness saw Walton's body get pushed from a dark-colored Honda between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.

A cause of death has not been released.
