Dozens of cars in Oyster Bay were egged over the weekend, police say.
Christine Launer spent her Sunday afternoon cleaning her car off after it was targeted.
"It's still on there, and it smells and then it's an inconvenience," Launer says.
Police say cars on Ivy, Hill, Prospect and School streets were targeted weeks before Halloween usually brings these kinds of crimes.
On an Oyster Bay Facebook page, one neighbor with a surveillance camera says they were able to see a man in his 20s driving a black sedan throwing eggs.
Officials say if you notice your vehicle has been egged, you should wash it right away with a pressure sprayer. If it's not dealt with, some cars may need professional detailing or to get the paint repaired.
Police say they are increasing patrols in the area hoping to find the person or people responsible.
