Suffolk police are searching for a man who allegedly left the scene of an accident after hitting a pedestrian with his van more than three weeks ago.
Police say on October 24, Patrick Connolly was cleaning tanks outside a Bay Shore 7-Eleven. A surveillance tape shows Connolly immediately after a van backed up into him in the parking lot. Connolly says the driver stopped to yell at him and drove away shortly after. Police released the tape, which shows Connolly laying there for minutes while several passersby neglected to check on him, to the public Thursday in hopes it would help them catch the suspect.
Anyone with information regarding the driver's identity is asked to contact Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
