Police: Woman injured in Sayville crash

Police originally said the incident was a hit-and-run. Following an investigation, detectives determined the crash was noncriminal.

A pedestrian was injured in a crash on Railroad Avenue in Sayville Tuesday evening, police say.
The victim has been identified as Victoria Thomas, 67, of Sayville.
Police originally said the incident was a hit-and-run. Following an investigation, detectives determined the crash was noncriminal.
Detectives determined Thomas was clipped by the sideview mirror of a 2012 Jeep Wrangler turning from eastbound Main Street to northbound Railroad Avenue.
The driver, 57-year-old Gerald Stonebridge, of Oakdale, remained at the scene.
