Neighbors say a woman was stabbed at her Manorhaven home Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene at around 4 p.m. on Kirkwood Road but have not yet confirmed the stabbing.
Those who live in the block say a victim, who was covered in blood, ran next door to get help until paramedics arrived. Both homes were crime scenes for hours.
They say it is typically a quiet block and were surprised to see something like this happen.
"Happening on our own street is kind of scary because you would think it was safe, says Wendy Barrera, of Manorhaven.
News 12 crews saw blood stains and a rag on a home's stoop.
Erick Pesantez says he saw the victim being treated by paramedics.
"I just saw there was blood everywhere from the top all the way to the bottom - to their legs," Pesantez says. "It was kind of surreal."
Police have not said how the victim is doing or if any arrests have been made.
