Police say a teenager suspected of a knifepoint robbery was fatally struck by a car while fleeing from the NYPD officers in North New Hyde Park.

Detectives say the teen was hit by a Lexus at the intersection of Lakeville Road and Bryant Avenue during the pursuit.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police say the driver, Ruyan Ali, was arrested near the scene moments later. The 28-year-old is facing multiple charges including leaving the scene of a fatal accident and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
