According to police, Ramone Smith contacted women online, luring them to his home in Hempstead. Police say once Smith got the women inside, he would use a box cutter or razor knife to threaten them and then he would sexually assault them.

Investigators say it happened on at least three occasions between August and September, once involving a woman who was 31 years old, and on two other instances involving women who were 19 years old.

Smith is charged with predatory sexual assault, rape, criminal sexual act and other charges.
