Police say a Queens man has been arrested for pretending to be a police officer in Elmont.

According to police, Mithcell Robi approached a 25-year-old man at the Mobile gas station on Hempstead Turnpike earlier this month.

Robi then told him he was an off-duty undercover officer and started searching the victim’s sweatshirt and pockets, officials say.

Police say when Robi was asked to show police identification, he drove off.

Robi is being charged with criminal impersonation and will face a judge.

Anyone who feels they may have been a victim of Robi is asked to call police.
