Suffolk police are looking for the men responsible for beating and sexually assaulting a bartender at a Mount Sinai bar Feb. 3.
According to police, the bartender was working alone when two white men entered Secrets Lounge around 3:30 p.m. They ordered drinks and then allegedly followed the woman to the back area of the bar, where they approached her from behind, beat her and knocked her to the floor.
One of the men asked the bartender how they could access the cash register, police say. After allegedly assaulting her, they fled the scene, but did not take any money. Police are circulating sketches of the two suspects, who they say are in their 30s.
Authorities describe one of the men as approximately 5?10?, with a medium build and reddish-brown or blond hair. He was clean-shaven, with blue eyes and was wearing a brown knit cap, police say.
The second man is described as a white man in his early to mid-30s, approximately 5?5?, with a medium build, and brown hair. Police say he was wearing a dark baseball cap, has brown eyes and a darker complexion than the first suspect with a thin chin-strap beard and goatee.
The victim?s friend and co-worker Kim Hernandez says the bartender?s mouth is wired shut due to a broken jaw, she has two black eyes and a concussion. She also says the men cut her on her neck with a knife and gave her a bloody lip.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
