Police say two fatal late night shootings took place in Suffolk County.

Authorities say man was fatally shot outside a home in West Babylon Saturday evening. They say 29-year-old Danie Philistin, of New Jersey, was shot and killed shortly after 11:30 pm. outside of a house on Gordon Avenue.

Neighbor Chanell Smiley says DJ music at a house party on Gordon Avenue started blaring at 5 p.m. Hours later, gunshots rang out in front of the house.

Investigators used metal detectors to try to find shell casings and went door-to-door to gather information from neighbors.

Police say another shooting took place in Amityville just before 3 a.m. Sunday. They say 41-year-old Maresse Stevenson, of Amityville, was shot and killed in the backyard of 3311 Great Neck Road.

Stevenson was pronounced dead at the scene.

This was the third shooting in the neighborhood in July.
