Police say a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash near a Smithtown shopping center Monday night.

They say he was riding his bike on Mount Pleasant Road around 8:30 p.m. when he collided with a vehicle that was turning into the shopping center.

The motorcyclist was taken to Stony Brook Hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to survive.
